Take a stick of butter and let it get to room temperature.
When it's soft enough to mush around with a spoon, mix in some sweet additions: maple syrup, honey, marmalade, cinnamon, candied ginger, agave nectar...whatever makes you giddy.
I went with a comforting mix of honey and cinnamon.
It took every teaspoon of my being to not scoop this out of the bowl and onto a cake cone.
Turn the butter out onto a piece of wax or parchment paper, form into a "stick" then roll it up and pinch the ends, like a big piece of candy. Or something.
Refrigerate until firm or until ready to use on Friday.
Now scoot. You'll miss your bus. Or the next episode of Man vs Food.
